Nose surgery (or rhinoplasty) is an extremely popular cosmetic surgery.
The goal of nose surgery is to reshape the nose. It can be either a reduction or enlargement procedure depending on your needs. Everything about the nose can be modified: the tip, the bridge, the nostril size, the angle it meets your face and lip, and much more. The key to nose surgery is the soft cartilage underneath the skin. Once the surgeon has access to it, it can be sculpted permanently. The common way to access the cartilage is from the nostrils or by peeling back the skin on the outside.
The technique is not for everyone, however. Only patients with realistic expectations and good physical/mental condition should consider it.
The best thing is to discuss any issues with your surgeon. Like all plastic surgeries, you simply can't expect a perfect body. You can definitely expect an improvement of your current situation though.
In general, a nose surgery is more difficult to recover from compared to other procedures. The face is extremely sensitive to invasive surgery and it takes weeks before swelling and bruising disappear. Bandages and dressings are required for that entire duration, meaning that it's difficult for people to get excited about the results until they are removed. Usually within a few months the nose will be fully healed and the final results will be visible for all to see.
